Part 1 Biscuiting
As I slid through the water on an inflatable Biscuit, water sprayed in my eyes and I could barely see.
Have you ever been on a inflatable biscuit before? It looks a lot like the picture at the top of this piece
of writing. It is a inflatable raft that holds a portion of people at a time. in my family we have two biscuits
and they are similar to the one above the writing.

At the end of 2017 in the Christmas Holidays we had the chance to take our new boat out for a spin.
we had a boat before, but that was bad quality and wasn’t good, so my father decided to purchase a new
boat. As we walked down to the water and sat on the ramp we couldn’t see the boat insight,
so we sat there and waited and waited, until finally we saw the new boat speeding towards us.
Dad tied the rope to a hook under the motor so that it will pull the biscuit forward, Toby,
Camryn and I were the first to hop on and to test out the biscuit.

Noah's Term 3's Reflection - Makey Makey
Last term we made a virtual gameshow on Scratch using Makey makey. We had to make a game that could be almost like Family feud, we worked in groups of 3 or 4, in my team was Mitchell, Kyron, Simon and I. We had a choice to make either a band, a game that is suitable for a disability or simply a Game show. The Yr 7 & 8 extension group were very lucky to have the help of OMG tech and Zoey (A worker for OMG tech) The focus for the term was "Guardians of the Galaxy"
The game show got harder and harder because we had less time every week, we started making positions for the team and where to set up for the presentation, if people wanted to play they would have to have two people, then we would make a buzzer for the people to push when the question was said.
We used play dough for our buzzers, and used crocodile wires to make the buzzer play the sound that was selected on the computer. I enjoyed learning how to use scratch and Makey makey.

Noah's 2nd Niuean Language Week about Wind Instuments
After the incredible Niuean performance Mr Jacobsen (Assistant Principal) came on the stage and brought out a few instruments with him, he said that there were lots of wind instruments, and that you had to blow it like a rasberry. The instruments he had were a Conch Shell, Shofar, Bugle, Trumpet and a Cone.
He first grabbed the Conch Shell and said "Instead of shouting to a nearby Island they would use a Conch shell. Next he used a Shofar, it was a antler that was carved into a horn and it makes quit a good sound. After that he introduced the Bugle, the Bugle was used in the war Especially WW1. One of the prefects then ran up on stage and put a cone next to the trumpet. Mr Jacobsen put the Bugle back skipped the cone and started to explain the trumpet. he then tryed to play the cone but it did not make a noise.

Noah's Immersion Assembly Term 4 (Musical Madness)
Immersion Assembly! We have started this term off with a kick, the term topic for the term 4 is “Musical Madness” The day started out fast as Mrs Tele'a ( Team 5 Team Leader) said the notices quickly so we could get to the hall ASAP (As Soon As Possible); In our school we have five teams, they are Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4 and Team 5. We got to the hall and Mr Burt was standing on the stage with some teachers singing this terms song (Musical Madness saves the day) The song ended and Mr Burt shouted "Team 1!" and the Assembly began.
Team 1: All the teachers got up on stage and sat around a table they decided to play Snap! (Card Game) then they started playing music, they played different kinds of music to see how the music made them feel, some were happy, scary, funny and sad.
Team 2: One of the teachers sat on the stage and played the ukulele, then all the other teachers started to walk on stage with different instruments that made sounds.
Team 3: After clapping for team 2's item Mrs King(Team 3 leader) stood up and said"For this term Team 3 are going to be learning how to create music on a Imac or flat screen, as soon as she sat down a movie started playing and the teachers created a movie, Songs in real life.
Team 4: The screen got blurry until we could see the movie, they had all of them playing music and singing, it was funny because at the end of the movie you could see Mr J dancing.
Team 5: All of the Yr 7&8 students were waiting for Team 5 teachers to do their item, Mr Wiseman and Mrs Tapuke pretended to be a mum and dad that had three daughters, they all sat on the couch and watched lion King The Circle of life then they changed the music to many other types of music, some were happy, scary, funny and sad.

Noah's Laser Tag Experience
Hello Readers, how is it going? Are you having fun in the school holidays, well I will be writing to you about my experience about LASER TAG! Laser tag is a game played with friends and family; you have suits and guns, the guns shoot laser beams out from the front of the gun and the vests that you wear have sensitive targets on the front and back of your vest, and also shoulder targets aswell (You will see the gun and vest on the top right hand corner)
You would have probably guessed by now that I went to laser tag with my Family, and that it was awesome and had so much fun. So back to the story, As my mother drove out of the Pakuranga Plaza carpark, I was so excited that I didn’t stop talking the whole ride to our destination. We finally got there, told the lady at the desk that we were going to be playing Laser tag/Laser strike for an hour, after that we were told to follow an instructor where he told us to wait and watch the screen telling us boundaries things that we are allowed and not allowed to do.
Then the doors opened and we were told to put on vests it didn’t matter which colour you had it would change unless you asked for it to be changed, the man played this voice recording of this lady saying “Game will Start...NOW!” As soon as I heard that message the music started playing and I ran to a corner to sneak attack someone.(By the way we had four rounds but I’m going to skip 3 of them) the game went on as we shot each other, points got higher, people came and left and the place got so hot and Smelly (Like B.O Smelly) on the very last game this new family came in and had lots of kids that would stay in one big group, so it was a easy target. So there you have it hopefully you can go to Laser Tag because trust me with heaps of friends and family it is Magnificent!

My Maniakalani Journey
Every year 13 schools make mini movies to share what they are learning this year. They are very creative and are funny, at school we are making our own movies. I'm going to talk about my filming experience this year. Something that I enjoyed was filming in the green room and having a big role in the movie, something I found challenging was trying not to make a mistake in my script. Something that I could do better was nothing I was good at in my part, another idea that Simon (Friend) and I thought about for a movie could have been ... NACHO LIBRE!

Ormiston Junior college Extension trip GEGNZ Student Summit Reflection
Today the lucky Yr 7 & 8 extension students had the chance of attending Ormiston Junior college GEGNZ (Google Educator Group New Zealand) In the classrooms we got to present our topics and visit workshops. One group presented to kids about scratch and taught them how to create a game, then another group had to present about PENN and how it works. The first thing we did before anything else was go to the auditorium and start the day.
We all learnt more about coding, stop motion and how to film.

Noah's Speech Planner: Why should kids have homework!
Today I can tell that you want something exciting! Something incredible something Amazing, and what could be more amazing than Homework! do any of you enjoy homework? I know it’s something people dislike but that is just a part of life, do you ever feel lonely when your siblings are outside having fun while you are stuck inside finishing off homework, homework is important because kids go home after school and do barely anything, it is very good if kids do homework so they are not distracted from any games or social media for example Facebook, But hopefully none of you have a Facebook account.
Did you know that homework also helps people have better marks in their reports, it can also make whanau included in your child's work, and can regain knowledge. Homework can also be good for teachers because if the student is stuck on a question the teacher know’s what they need to work on. As a kid homework is just like vegetable’s it doesn’t taste so good but you have to eat it. Homework also gives valuable practice with what you've learned in class, repeating classroom concepts at home helps to cement in your mind the things you learned.

Guardians of the Galaxy Immersion Assembly Term 3
What a great start for term three, this term our whole topic is based on planet earth and beyond, the topic’s name is none other than the Guardians of the Galaxy. Would you like to know what the five teams have created in the holidays for there class focus. The reason why I liked this terms Immersion assembly is because it was much different than the other assembly’s.
Team 1 - Team 1’s focus was all about learning about the sun, the moon, outer space and how it works, they are also learning about how the earth keeps people alive. The team leader Miss Hockley came out and explained what they were doing and why she had giant glasses on.
Team 2 - Team 2’s topic focus was about how the sun and the moon change the earth. There movie was very interesting by how they sang and danced around, I really enjoyed there awesome costumes.
Team 3 - Team 3’s topic focus was about Time and seasons. In there movie they had trouble with time and how fast it went, they said they couldn’t set a time to make a meeting because of everything that was going on.
Team 4 - Team 4’s topic focus was all about exploring the universe by travelling to other places and seeing if it is safe for human lives, in the control room workers are smacking their keyboards to see if the astronaut was doing okay and how to move the rocket through space and set the destination.
Team 5 - Team 5’s topic focus is all about how tides change by the moon, also about what the moon is and the distance in space, One of the most important things that we are focusing on is the Gravitational pull.
The most informative movie was Team 1’s movie because they showed the most information about the planets and the stars and how hot the sun can be when people/astronauts go into space.
I think the most entertaining item would have to be team 5’s magnificent band, it was the most entertaining because all of the team 5 teachers were playing instruments and being silly, Mrs Judd however was lead singer and was very good at it.
The things I am looking forward in term 3 is learning about space and other planets, I also want to know more about people visiting other planets and seeing if there is another planet safe for humans.

How NASA Technology Benefit Lives
The space exploration has made new technologies that have changed our lives in lot’s of ways. Here is an example of some of the things they have created to change the world, NASA, (National Aeronautics Space Administration). Did you know? That the hurricane that hit mid-Atlantic on the 9th of September 2003, was predicted from NASA. So that way, more people survived and less people were injured. The first man to orbit the earth in space was called Yuri Gagarin, he made it back and was a very famous man, but sadly he died 7 years after his flight. He was a Russian astronaut. In the days we have now people can stay in space for a long time.

Noah's Yr 7 Special Week
Hello readers, last week we had a blast playing fun games, cooking and cool activities, the fun games we played were cup stacking challenges, the cooking we made were coconut truffles and lastly the cool activities like building towers out of marshmallows and spaghetti sticks. Now I will be telling about a few moments that was challenging, funny, made me feel nervous, and proud.
First of all, a challenging moment was when we were playing the marshmallow tower game, we had to stack them up high using only spaghetti sticks, the team that won got a clap, the people in my team were Tevita, Kosini, Sabrina, Simon and Mitchell. The sad thing was that we made a giant sculpture, but some of the sticks snapped and smashed the whole thing down.
Secondly, a funny moment was when we watched a movie called Cody Banks 2, it was really funny and made us all laugh, he was a secret agent that teamed up with British intelligence, to help destroy the evil men that wanted to take over the world using mind control microchips with a fake tooth to disguise it, but at the training camp none of the parents new that the children were agents.
Thirdly, a moment that made me feel nervous was on Friday where we performed our team chants. As Mrs Judd called our team up front to say our chant, I was so nervous because I was at Extension (Where people extend their learning) that morning so I didn’t practise it with my team, my leader’s got ready and screamed out the chant, for me I just followed on.
Lastly, A moment that I felt proud was at our school assembly before our games begun everyone had to line up except for me and a few others, I felt very proud of myself for standing up in front of everyone and taking over the role of being a Prefect, we had to make a korero for our school so they can do the right thing, the korero for that week was “Leave your toys at home” the reason we picked that korero is because we had a issue with people not doing their work because they were to busy playing with Fidget spinners.

Noah's Immersion Assembly Writing
Immersion Assembly
Welcome back Readers, Term 2 has started and I am ready for some more learning. I will be talking about the Immersion assembly and Term 2’s focus, The topic for this term is Now That’s Thinking, The reason why we do the Immersion Assembly is to show what the students are learning this term and the main focus, it’s lots of fun and a good way to get students back at school. All the teachers do a Item Presentation or movie.
All of the teams in our school did items and my favourite would have to be Team 5, It was funny because they were playing around and Mr Wiseman was acting Very Silly. I enjoyed it because it showed that you can always fix things.

Noah's Explanation Free Writing: Sushi
Have you ever wanted to taste the delicious dish of Sushi? Well, let me explain more about it.. Sushi is a Japanese meal that is very tasty, and if you buy it, I bet buying sushi will be a habit in your life. I am thankful that people invented it.
First of all, let's talk about the history. The original form of sushi first came to japan century in Japan around 2000 years ago. The original type of sushi was first developed in Southern Asia, where they ate rice and fish. The japanese started to eat three meals a day with rice.
The main tasty sushi dish is salmon and avocado together squished by rice and wrapped around with a layer of seaweed, one of my favourite recipes are Teriyaki chicken on rice with mayo, very delicious and tasty.
If you have never tried Sushi and you don’t know where it is, go to st pierre's sushi store in panmure right next to the roundabout, Hopefully you enjoyed this piece of writing.
Noah's Explanation Writing: What is one of my favourite pastimes
Hello readers, I am going to talk to you about one of my favourite past times, Well it has to start with Tidying up, I love tidying up because it makes me feel proud of myself and it looks very clean, plus I love playing with the vacuum because it feels like I’m driving a race car around my house, and besides if you do it then you won’t have to do it afterwards.
First I would have to go with tidying up because if visitors come to your house for a sleepover or for dinner, you won’t feel embarrassed if they say “this family doesn’t care about their house” so we should keep our houses clean and tidy because if people come over and see a nice and clean house they will want to stay the night there.
Lastly, we should tidy up our houses because if we clean it then after we won’t get into trouble by our parents. We should tidy up the first time or you will probably get in trouble. Your mother and father will be very proud of you.
There you have it, I have just explained to you what my favourite pastime is, so if you see anything that needs tidying up in your house, by all means tidy it up, but don’t shove it under the bed or in the wardrobe, instead tidy it up and life will be easier.
